Please Try Again

In 2005, a crossword maze, Please Try Again, utilized the Ministry of Casual Living window space.  These losing crossword scratch tickets were also seen in a video loop in the centre inset of the window as time ticked by before your eyes.  Of particular interest to me was the filtering of a popular and recognizable form of entertainment through a visual compulsion to order and build objects, as well as the slow accumulation of meaning through repetitive acts. This was countered by the bet-hedging of compulsive lottery players.  Also, the use of chance generated a sometimes inspired, often pointless, word scramble of the grid of discarded tickets.
